About Server Status Checker

The Server Status Checker Tool is an easy-to-use website tester tool that helps you check whether the status of a website is offline or online.

This tool works on all modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc. It helps you to check whether the website is online or offline.

Our Server Status Checker displays the HTTP status codes that your browser doesn't normally show you.

Each server status code has its unique meaning.

HTTP is the most popular protocol for the World Wide Web, which is used by most web servers. It's very easy to remember the code.

HTTP stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol.

You check the server status of up to 100 URLs on our Server Status Checker tool with a single click.

HTTP Status Code & What they Mean

When you visit a website, you get an HTTP status code as a response. This code indicates the reason behind the operation or failure of the server.

If you receive a 503 HTTP status code, then this means that there is some kind of problem with the server. You will need to check if it is a temporary or permanent issue.

As a webmaster, you should be able to tell the difference between a normal website and a website that's down. If your website is down, this is the tool to use to find out what's causing the problem.

It's not only good for you, but also for your clients and visitors.

HTTP status codes are useful information for webmasters to resolve site configuration errors on time.

  • 200 status code: OK is good. This simply means that the server is able to serve content as requested.
  • 301 status code: This means that the content requested has been permanently moved to a different location.
  • 302 status code: This means there is a temporary redirection by the server. Hence, the URL can be used again in future.
  • 307 status code: This means a temporary Redirect. It is pretty similar to a 302 as the URL can be used next time.
  • 400 status code: Bad Request. It just means what you're requesting cannot be understood by the server.
  • 401 status code: Unauthorized. It simply means that your server will only grant access with authorization.
  • 403 status code: Forbidden. Even with authentication, the server will not return requests regardless.
  • 404 status code: Not Found. This is one of the most common HTTPS errors. It can be really frustrating at times. The error simply means that the content you are searching for cannot be found. 404 is used by search engines to know the validity of a URL.
  • 410 status code: Gone. This is pretty similar to Error 404. It notifies you that the URL you were searching for once existed, but is now gone.
  • 500 status code: Internal Server Error. This is a server error that your host can fix. It simply means that there's a problem with your host server.
